What is cross linked hyaluronic acid?

Tri aqua cross linked hyaluronic acid is the hyaluronic acid cross linked by the BDDE agent.

Hyaluronic Acid is an inherent component of the human body, which has a large water-binding capacity. But it is very easy to be metabolized by “hyaluronidase” in the human body in about 24 to 48 hours.

In order to maintain the water-retaining effect of hyaluronic acid for a longer time, a “cross-linking agent” called BDDE is added to Tri aqua fillers to connect the cross-linking points between the hyaluronic acid strings, just like tying between each string. Many ribbons make their loose structure a dense colloid.

The cross-linked hyaluronic acid is more resistant to the metabolism of hyaluronidase. Small-molecule hyaluronic acid can last for about 6 to 9 months, and medium and large-molecule hyaluronic acid lasts for 12 to 18 months.

How to choose the most suitable cross linked hyaluronic acid?

Three factors determine the characteristics of hyaluronic acid injection:

  • Cross-linking degree
  • Particle size
  • Concentration.

The higher cross-linking degree of the hyaluronic acid molecule, the larger the molecule and the higher the viscoelasticity. It is usually used to apply to the parts of the face that need strong support, such as cheeks, nose, chin, etc.

The lower the degree of cross-linking, the smaller the molecule and the higher the ductility, so it is easy to spread evenly in the superficial skin, and is suitable for applying to delicate parts such as tear trough and wrinkles around the mouth.

In other words, where hyaluronic acid is applied depends on the degree of cross-linking, molecular size, and texture of hyaluronic acid.

Can the cross-linking agent in cross linked hyaluronic acid be metabolized by the human body? Will it be harmful to the body?

When the cross-linking agent is cross-linked with hyaluronic acid, its chemical properties have changed, and it will be degraded by the human body, so the cross-linking agent is safe.

This relates to degumming chain technology. Our degumming technology has reached a very high level, so the content of cross-linking agents in the dermal filler is actually very small. The concentration of cross-linking agents in Tri aqua hyaluronic acid products is less than 2ppm. This content is not harmful to the human body.

What are the differences between cross linked hyaluronic acid and non cross linked hyaluronic acid?

The molecular structure of cross-linked hyaluronic acid is more stable, and the higher the degree of cross-linking, the slower the decomposition speed and the longer the maintenance time, which is suitable for facial filling. Fillers used in the areas such as the nose, chin, and lips are all cross-linking hyaluronic acid.

Non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid is more suitable for intradermal injection and is also one of the important components in mesotherapy.
